 Horizontally arranged: walking (or passant) sphinx (cf. Keel 1995: § 544, 545, 546, 547, particularly Keel 1995: § 547); the human part consists mainly of a pharao‘s head; he has a false beard, wears a wig (cf. Hall 1913: no. 2231), and an uraeus (Keel 1995: § 522) emerges from his forehead (cf. Keel 2010: Bet-Mirsim Nr. 67); the sphinx‘ forelegs are schematic, and dressed in a royal kilt; the hind legs of the leonine part are naturalistic and the tail is curled upwards; in front of the sphinx is a huge flowering reed, or the j (Keel 1995: § 456); parallels for sphinx and reed are Keel 2013: Tel Gamma Nr. 116; Newberry 1907: pl. 7,36771; above the back of the sphinx is, without any kind of frame, the thronename of Amenhotep III Nb-m˓t-r˓ (Keel 1995: § 634, 650, 663; cf. Keel 2010: Bet-Mirsim Nr. 9, 68, 95); for walking sphinx and the name of this king see Hall 1913: no. 1866; behind the sphinx is a space filler in the shape of a t or a nb sign; cf. Keel 2010a: Tell el-Far˓a-Süd Nr. 694; Hornung/Staehelin et al. 1976: no. D17).
